The story is based on reincarnation, spanning a period of 600 years from 1419 to 2019. Harry is a barber who often gets strange glimpses of a bygone era. He runs a barber shop in London with his brothers Roy and Max. Harry's forgetful nature causes him to lose a 5 million pound bag that belonged to a gangster named Michael Bhai. As a result, Michael's henchmen Big Brother always demands his money back. To meet this demand, the three brothers get engaged to the three daughters of Thakral, a wealthy London business tycoon: Harry is dating Pooja, Roy is dating Neha and Max is dating Kriti. Destination wedding took place in Sitamgarh, India due to mysterious circumstances. Upon reaching Sitamgarh, Aakhri Pasta, a bellboy at their hotel, recognizes him as the reincarnation of the people who lived 600 years earlier, i.e. 1419. Harry learns that the glow he sees has something to do with the pasta he talks about. To meet her, Harry travels to the nearby town of Madhavgarh, where he begins to see flashes.

In 1419, Prince Bala Dev Singh of Madhavgarh was banished by his father Maharaj Parikshitap as Bala tried to kill him to become the king. Bala's servant Pehla Pasta tells him about Sitamgarh - a nearby kingdom whose king Maharaja Surya Singh Rana is looking for a groom for his three daughters: Princess Madhu, Princess Mala and Princess Meena. Bala is planning to marry the eldest princess Princess Madhu to become the Maharaja of Sitamgarh.

Bala meets Bangdu Maharaj, a pious dance teacher who has an affair with Mala. Meena is secretly in love with the brave bodyguards of three princesses, Dharmaputra. Bala helps bring the two couples together and enlists their help to reunite him with Madhu. The plan works, and Maharaj Surya Singh Rana announces Madhu's marriage with Bala, Mala with Bangdu, and Meena's marriage with Dharmaputra. However, Surya Singh Rana's nephew Suryabhan wants the throne for himself. He kills the brother of Gama, the leader of Sitamgarh's enemy clan, and frames three couples for it. On the wedding day, Gama breaks into the palace and fights his brother to avenge them. During the fight, Bala learns that he now truly loves Madhu, even though it was her way to the throne in the beginning. During the battle, the marriage mandap (altar) collapses and kills the three couples along with Gama.

Back in the present, Harry learns that the groomsmen are ready to marry the wrong brides. Pasta helps Harry to remind Roy and Max of their lives as Bangdu Maharaj and Dharmaputra respectively. He is then introduced to Pappu Rangeela, a qawwali singer and cousin of a girl. He is the reincarnation of Gama, but has no recollection of his past life. Meanwhile, Pasta finds a painting of the wedding day of their previous lives, in which the girls are asked to remember their past lives and avoid marrying each other's love with Bala with Madhu, Bangdu with Mala. Saath and Dharmaputra are shown with Meena. Before he can show the painting to the girls to remind them of their past lives, it falls into the hands of Pappu Rangeela, and he remembers his life as Gama.

Pappu's marriage breaks up and a fight breaks out. The war forces Pooja and Neha to remember their past lives. Soon, Michael Bhai, now revealed as an avatar of Suryabhan, appears at the wedding for his money and shoots Gama. Kriti remembers everything when she sees Michael Bhai and also tells that the wedding mandap didn't fall on its own - Suryabhan broke it to kill everyone so that he could become the Maharaja of Sitamgarh. The Michael brothers recall their past lives and claim how they killed Gama's brother. Pappu Rangeela hears this and pushes Michael Bhai into the crumbling pavilion, seeking his revenge.

The film ends on a happy note, with Harry marrying Kriti, Roy marrying Pooja, and Max marrying Neha, thus completing their 600-year-old love story.

Director Sajid Khan was originally supposed to direct the film; In October 2018, in the wake of the ongoing "Me Too" movement in India, Khan was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct by actresses Saloni Chopra, Rachel White and journalist Keema Upadhyay. Following the allegations, Khan tweeted that he would step down as director, while lead actor Akshay Kumar tweeted that he was canceling the shooting of the film and would not work with the accused until the investigation was completed. Later, Nana Patekar also left the production following allegations of sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta. However, later the investigating agencies gave him a clean chit and now it has to be seen whether he will be called again for the film as he was dropped from the film just because he was accused.

Farhad Samji, who co-directed Housefull 3, has replaced Sajid Khan as the director.
